Operation RUPEE

As part of Operation RUPEE, the Special Escort Group of Thames Valley Police, Roads Policing Unit, Escort the G7 convoy to Chequers.

Op RUPEE was a policing operation in Buckinghamshire in support of the G7 Global Finance Ministers Conference.

Thames Valley Police worked in support of HM Treasury, the event organisers. The operation ran for the duration of the conference, the main days of which were Friday (10/5) and Saturday (11/5) at Hartwell House Hotel and Spa, near Aylesbury.

The Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors of the group of seven (G7) industrialised countries were in attendance.

Aylesbury Vale LPA Commander Supt OllyWright said: “Thames Valley Police officers are deployed throughout this event in support of the security operation, and to minimise any disruption to the local community.”. Aylesbury, UNITED KINGDOM. May 10 2013.
